C. Debussy String Quartet in g –minor

1 flute, 2 Oboes (II also English Horn), 2 Clarinets (II also Bass Clar.), 2 Bassoons, 2 Horns, 1 Harp and Strings
“Lee has reshaped the Debussy String Quartet into a “symphony“. The string parts did not just adopt reinforcing contours from the winds; the structure of the sound is so decisively dealt with that in essence a new work emerges. Refreshing, when professional musicians dare to free themselves loose from the present trend.” Salzburger Nachrichten
The Debussy String Quartet in g-minor in an arrangement by Yoon Kuk Lee multiplies the richness of tone color found in the original and matches Debussy so exactly that one could imagine the arrangement as if Debussy had done it himself. Kärntner Tageszeitung

The result (of the adaptation) was amazing. True, a simply scored string quintet can hardly suggest the sonority of a string orchestra´s sound, and yet, as here under Yoon K. Lee´s constant, uncompromising and unflappable leadership, one also heard the “sap” of the original through the delicate structures. Salzburger Nachrichten

1 Flute, 2 Oboes (II also English Horn.), 2 Clarinets, 2 Bassoons, 2 Horns, and Strings

„With incomparable verve, Yoon Kuk Lee, a true conductor who commands his profession perfectly, demonstrated that he also understands something about scoring for orchestra, or rather, that he understands much. His potpourri taken from La Traviata as an homage to Verdi gave evidence to his sense of tone color and moods and the orchestra put forward its best effort here already: homogeneity, intensity of sound, discipline and dedication are matter of course for these musicians.” Tageblatt (Luxembourg)

G. Puccini – La Boheme Potpourri

“Yoon K. Lee conducted a potpourri taken from “La Boheme” by Puccini, a mélange of the greatest hits of the opera. Lee´s instrumentation skilfully utilizes the sonorous possibilities of a small ensemble comprised of strings, winds, horn and harp.” Salzburger Volkszeitung
